Animals found in Jordan
Camels

Camels have always been very important in Jordan. The camels in Jordan are one-humped camels. They are called dromedaries. They are domesticated animals which provide milk, meat and hair for their owners. They used to bring people and goods from place to place. There are no wild camels in Jordan.

Many tourists who visit Jordan take the opportunity to go trekking in the desert on camels.

Dorcas gazelles are amazing. Although they drink water when they come across it they could all of the fluids they need from the plants in they eat. This means that they can live easily in the desert where water is difficult to find. They like to eat leaves, flowers, twigs and fruit. They can run as fast as a car but were hunted almost to extinction. |
