Bahrain's Environment
There are lots of interesting things to see in Bahrain. In the summer time the temperature can reach 50˚C. However, in the winter time it can be as low as 4˚C or 5˚C. The seabed next to Bahrain is rocky. In some places there are coral reefs.
Bahrain is a low-lying country. It is mainly barren desert. There are low limestone hills. This proves that Bahrain was once under the sea. The limestone is covered in a type of saline sand.
There are no permanent rivers or streams in Bahrain. Very little rain falls during the year. When it does fall a lot falls together. The wadis (dry riverbeds) fill with water. It usually runs off very quickly and sometimes causing dangerous flooding.
