Many Bahrainis wear traditional clothes.
Bahraini males cover their heads with an embroided cap called a keffiyeh. The keffiyeh is covered with a folded square cloth called the ghutra. The ghutra is held in place with a double black coil called the aqal.
In the summer time the ghutra is usually white, though it can sometimes be red and white. In the wintertime a heavier cashmere ghutra is often used.
